James Instruments Mini R-Meter Rebar Locator

Professional rebar locator used for finding the location and estimated depth/size of reinforced rebar, post tension cables, copper and conduit.

The Mini R-Meter is a rebar and cover meter for finding the location and depth of rebar in concrete using the Eddy current principle.

It is a rugged hand-held meter from James Instruments in the USA. The eddy current sensor was specifically designed to react with the presence of currents on the outer surface of metal objects. It is uninfluenced by small metal particles in the concrete, whether the concrete is fresh or hardened, wet, or dry. The eddy current sensor also allows the unit to locate both ferrous as well as non-ferrous metals in concrete. The latest in microprocessor technology not only conditions the signal from the sensor for more accurate and dependable results, but also provides the user with the information they need.

Simple to use, the Mini R-Meter can typically locate rebar at a depth of up to 200mm from the surface of the material for large rebar. To obtain the most accurate results the size diameter of the rebar can be selected then the instrument will automatically correlate the output of the sensor with the rebar cover.

An easy to read display and a 4 hour battery life are just a few advantages that make the Mini R-Meter one of the most advanced hand held units in the field today.

The sensor design, seperated from the controller by a cable, allows the end user to quickly and accurately locate and determine concrete cover in corners or hard to reach areas.

JAMES INSTRUMENTS

James Instruments Inc. is a leading manufacturer of non-destructive test equipment for construction materials. Specifically, we design, manufacture and sell the most advanced equipment to test concrete, ceramic, wood, and other coarse grained materials. James Instruments supply the instruments that: measure strength, both compressive and tensile, locate rebar and other objects in concrete and masonry, determine density and analyse materials ultrasonically, analyse corrosion and, finally, determine moisture in concrete and other construction materials.
